Indeed - there's a Bolton fan at work who has been giving me what details he knows. The takeover DD was terminated, so that isn't going ahead, but no-one knows why. The part time staff are threatening to strike at the weekend, the council may revoke the stadium H&S certificate and they can't afford the power for the training ground, so the players were told to take the day off yesterday.
Administration now seems the only likely outcome, and will likely happen before the end of the month - as there is some cut off around when the -10 deduction would be applied.

When there is a real worry the Bolton may not complete the season, thinking about when to go into administration iis a luxury.

The owner sounds like a complete conman.

As Palace fans we obviously know how this feels...and it still gets me that with all the obscene amounts of money swilling around in the Premier League that this still happens just one League below.
I just hope HMRC give 'em more time. Good luck BWFC

Bolton players going on strike for 48 hours, basically refusing to train, in protest after staff members were failed to have salaries paid for the second month in a row

Not sure how that helps, unless the players are donating their 48 hours of wages to the staff who have not been paid?

My best mate is Bolton and he thinks there's a good chance they could well go under.
Talking with him about how bad things are definitely gives me some perspective on Palace.

Bolton have a good, relatively modern stadium. Somebody will eventually show up and do a deal.

I feel for them and any other club that finds them selves in this predicament..... except maybe Moan U.

Does look pretty dire. Possible liquidation on Wednesday. Could earn a stay of execution from a winding up order but sounds like they've got 14 days to pay the players otherwise they can all walk away from their contracts.
From the sounds of it the only parties interested in buying are the pre-pozzo Watford owners who sound pretty ghastly according to Watford fans. Puts our recent reigning in of transfer fees into perspective really. |

Rationally or not, I still feel ill towards Bolton due to Phil ‘No relegation’ Gartside, ten or so years ago....

Unfortunately one has more say over the club than the other.

Exactly this. I'd like to think we'd have the support of other clubs' fans if Palace went into turmoil because of some shithouse chairman.
