Yep, fair play to them to showing ambition. 6 or 7 goals from him could be the difference for them staying up.

When you read a club like Cardiff can attract and are on the verge of a signing of this qualty and paying a fee reputed to be 18m, does make you think where have we gone wrong.
Lets hope Benteke comes good as it looks like he will need to be seen as our long awaited NEW signing.

No. It doesn't.

1) No.proof we are remotely interested.

2) Promoted sides far more wiggle room in terms of wages and transfer fees.

3) We have spent considerably in the last 5 years.

4) By your logic, Cardiff are further ahead than Arsenal (who are also looking for free's or loans).

What quality? The French League is marginally better than the Championship and they're paying £20m for a 28 year old who will be worth nothing in a few years. This is a panic buy and a gamble for Cardiff that probably won't pay off.

(1) Have/did i suggest we were interested in this guy? that would be far too much to expect Palace outlaying 18m on a striker in this window.
(2) But on the flip side they have not enjoyed the benefits of SIX years lucrative premiership funding as we have, that must have a bearing?
(3) Yes, but was it wisely spent? as we still seem to struggle every season, also what have we to show in resale value.
(4) Not sure how you come to that conclusion.

You must not be so easily mislead into believing the club is unable to fund transfers especially after years of lucrative premiership money as i suggested, also not forgetting the investment from the Americans. If the excuse is we have a hefty wage bill, then could that be down to poor/mismanagement? paying out high wages to average players as reflected in our results and constant struggles should not be acceptable. Just ask youself how a club like Bournemouth and several others can spend freely in nearly every window and not use FFP or whatever its called as an excuse, that only seems to relate to Palace or as we keep hearing on here.

Thats a brave statement about the French league for you to make? seeing as though what has come through over the years and are still a hotbed for talent scouts, but also are you forgetting they (France) are World Cup holders so must be doing something right.
As for Cardiff, they are spending this amount on a proven goalscorer in the hope they stay in the lucrative premiership getting around 130m per year, yes it is a gamble or is it? but if they dont try then they are certain for relegation.

We played Toulouse in a pre-season friendly and I honestly don't think they'd beat Leeds or the other top Championship teams. A proven goalscorer in France is not a proven goalscorer in the Premier League. By the time he's up to Premier League speed it will be the end of the season and Cardiff will likely be down.

How many of our Premier League rivals have been through two Administrations in the last 20 years?

Mounie had a good scoring record in France didn't he?

That worked out well for Huddersfield.

Toulouse were the third worst team in France last season, only staying up through a relegation play off, and before they played us lost their two star players (Diop to West Ham and Lafont to Fiorentina). They’re in another relegation battle this season. Very shallow and unfair way of judging the entire French league. Do agree that a proven French league player isn’t a proven premier league one, but that’s stating the obvious. Applies for a move between any two leagues.

Has no service, this is a side Puncheon has strolled into and instantly looked like their best player. Honestly think he’d score 8 to 10 goals for us. Very good at heading, would eat up some of those pointless crosses we make to no target man.

Have you forgotten about Bournemouth the team i highlighted just where they were a few short years ago? Div4 and on the verge of extinction, Swansea similar situation also not so long ago, to name Two.
