I sincerely hope we spend a significant part of training teaching our players to kick the ball at the arms of our opponents. If we get this right we could be getting double figure penalties each game which would certainly take away the desperate need for a proper striker as anyone in the box should be able to achieve penalties. We should therefore be focusing on a second penalty taker otherwise Luka is gonna be worn out by Half time. At the same time we need to bind our defenders arms to their sides to prevent this strategy from also working the other way.
Not sure I have ever seen a more stupid rule change, open to exploitation than this one |

If it really is to be handball if it hits the arm or hand regardless of intent there will be far too many penalties imo.
Surely the handball rule is there to stop players using their hands to control or deliberately deflect the ball. It seems totally wrong to me that a penalty could be awarded for an accidental touch on the hand when the ball is nowhere near the goal

Plus I agree with the earlier poster who suggested players may now actually start trying make the ball touch an opponent's hand/arm. That would be ridiculous.

What is this "touching the posts" they speak of?

Here is the way I would like to see the offside rule read: "If any part of the attacker's body is not further downfield than any part of the next-to-last defender's body, the attacker is not in an offside position." Or, to whatever wording necessary to make it so that if there is not clear space of the entire body between the attacker going downfield and the next-to-last defender, not offside position. This would clearly give offenses more advantage, which is what much of the fan bases want, and would be more easily called and interpreted.

Since the Nations League thread is asking questions about the new rules coming and/or already here.

Oh dear.
Just looking at 8 & 10, they've created two more scenarios that are open to interpretation and therefore contention. The ref will have to determine if (8) the attack is promising or not and (10) whether or not the offending team are distracted. Cue more big team decisions lads. |

‘substitutes will now have to leave the field of play at the closest possible point of the touchline.’
Which means a player will make his way to the centre circle once he’s been tipped off that he’s going off.

Not sure what goalkeepers not kicking the goalpost before a penalty brings to the table?
Don't most do it to knock the mud from their studs? |

Isn't heading to the dugouts the safe option.
You are going to get players wandering off on the far side and then trying to work out what direction they should walk towards the dugouts and then suffer abuse from everyone as they walk around the pitch.

And a player with a serious injury requiring a stretcher. Surely they will be able to take the shortest route to the dressing rooms / ambulance.

Yeah right! It's all part of these pathetic mind games they tend to play these days. I wish the refs would have the balls to get the cards out when they indulge in these antics, yellow card if they do it once and if they transgress again they're off with an outfield player then having to fill in in goal

And then go to one part of the pitch to go off before changing their mind and going in the opposite direction. In principle it seems like a good idea though

The stupidest rule of all hasn’t been changed then I see.
Striker gets poleaxed 25 yards out near the wing. Free kick. Striker down with injury and gets treatment. He then has to go off and stand on the side line while his team deliver the free kick Fvcking stupidity
