Che Adams signs for Southampton
Che Adams is at the centre of a three-club battle to take the striker to the Premier League next season.
Crystal Palace, Southampton and Burnley are interested in Birmingham City’s top scorer, who is expected to leave St Andrew’s in the summer. Asked about Adams, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “I don’t want to discuss any personality. We were linked with him in the winter transfer period. We have eyes on a few young players who fit our shape and philosophy and we are mainly looking for younger players. First we have to be safe.” Adams has scored 22 goals in the Championship for Birmingham this season and is regarded as one of the hottest properties outside the top flight. Palace want a new striker and cannot afford to make Michy Batshuayi’s loan deal from Chelsea permanent. The Eagles are unlikely to be able to afford the Belgian’s wage demands, so are already looking elsewhere. Birmingham City's Che Adams celebrates scoring his side's first goal of the game during the Sky Bet Championship match at Carrow Road, Norwich Adams fits into the Palace brief of trying to bring the average age and wage bill down, with the 22-year-old expected to cost around £15million. That’s decent value for a leading young championship player, Maddison costed 25. Yes please.

From what I’ve seen, Adams is very fast and pretty strong. Lack of real pace or physicality was a big part of what held Gayle back.

That will only be seen if we buy him. Be interesting to see how all those who berate the club for not looking for young talent from lower divisions react to this, though. It should be right up their street, but you just know that at least one will come out with some kind of snarkey comment about it.

For his point of you, Southampton is a good place to go. Austin is getting on, Ings has been good but injuries catching up with him, he would probably have more chance of regular game time on the face of it than with us, considering we have Benteke and Wickham, plus maybe Ayew.

If he takes five games to get up to speed in the Premier League he'll get murdered on here, and if Roy takes half a season to gently introduce him to the team, Roy will be called senile.
Too much of a BBS risk.

So what formation would we play? Currently we play one up top. If Adams comes in he must play off Tekkers. If not what's the point?
Why can't we play two up top?

This one stood out to me as a Championship player we should look at, could suit our style and probably more affordable as Birmingham need funds
Difficult to tell if he’s a PL goalscorer, only one way to find out I guess

Haven't really seen him except for the inevitable youtube appearance. However, 22 goals is a good return. A bidding war would turn me off.
