Heard that - but they seemed to be rehashing old reports.

I thought the rest of their assessment about Palace was way off the mark e.g. suggesting Batshuayi hasn't worked out.

They also thought we could be in trouble next season as they felt our away form is more likely to fall away than our home form is to improve, particularly with the strength of the promoted clubs being greater than those teams relegated.

They said exactly the same thing last summer. The Totally Football Show is great and I have man love for James Richardson but really they know **** all about Palace and probably the other clubs outside the top 6.

We will all accept that our away form this season was exceptional and beyond belief so to expect to repeat may well be impossible, but on the flip side our Home form was so bad that surely it will only get better and hopefully that last game proved it can be done.

Worth the risk in my view. Rather spend £15 million on this guy than 4 on Ayew. An extra 11 million for someone a lot younger who offers more, not that I think Ayew is a bad player.

Interesting to see that Southampton are only looking for players 24 yrs old and younger.

I think that will prove to be a good piece of business for Southampton. Wish we could trade out one of our strikers for him.

Must be worth us getting involved. Give Southampton a fight. We must be a bit more attractive than Sheffield United and Burnley?

£14m seems decent value in this market for him.

I suppose the club have given Wickham a new contract and Benteke wants to stay, so maybe they're confident of getting Batshuayi on loan again?

Truth is that the club are not interested in making signings until very late on in the window as Parish believes you can get better deals at that point.

He is managed by Steve Parish's favourite agent who a lot of our best players are with. I'm sure we would have been offered him.

He may be right. I have no idea. But I hope the club weigh up the benefits of any saving late in the window against the benefit of having new signings in time for preseason and the team more settled in time to try and make a good start to the season.

The arguement is currently for a squad like ours, what or who should we be signing, regardless of timing?

We need a centre forward arguably but have Benteke and Wickham who the club seem to be sticking with. Spending £15m on a Championship forward now or in 4 weeks time is a risk either way. If not dead set, it seems sensible to hold out, let other teams play their cards and see what happens that way. If someone like Michy comes available on loan then it is worth the wait.

Most premier league clubs are yet to make any big moves that would have a knock on effect. It would only take a top 6 club to buy a Wan Bissaka, Maddison, Maguire, Trippier or similar to those who have been linked for the wheels to start spinning and players to start moving.

How do you know he’s not PL class? Same applies for Bowen who happens to be in the same league .
