Tragic news, sadly it shows how uncertain life can be when you can be taken so unexpectedly.

Yeah if it's true he was doing 120MPH nevermind the outpouring of sympathy for Reyes what about the 2 passengers, why haven't we heard about them? by the sounds of it at best Reyes has finished their football careers, at worst killed them.

On a kind of different tact but still on subject; isn’t it about time minute silences/applause were stopped at matches? I know it’s all done with the best respectful intentions, but is prior to two teams going into sporting combat, really the appropriate moment to be remembering someone’s life? Find it all very much virtual signalling for me. Has also led to occasions where certain ex players/managers are remembered yet others aren’t. Who says who is more worthy of this kind of honour? Just feels like every game now is preceded by a moment of reverence. In some cases about things that have nothing to do with football or the clubs involved. Just feels very weird as as soon as it ends everyone roars in true tribal fashion, ‘COME ONNN!’ ‘LET’S DO IT!’ It’s almost laughable. I blame Diana .

He 'may' gave been doing 120MPH
How on earth does Canizares canizares know how fast, he was, or wasn't going?

Canizares is a rally driver now so probably something he knows about in regard in that speed needs to be respected and there is a place for it, not on public roads. He will probably face a backlash but he is right for saying something. As soon as I heard I wondered how it happened. Driving like a lunatic has meant he has died. I disagree about what you say regarding minutes silence’s (applauses I find are bullshit but that’s a different point) we need more respect in this world and this is an indicator or respect. |

It’s terribly sad. However, 120 mph may turn out to be a conservative estimate. Here the media are talking about more than 200 km per hour.

Assume you mean mph, as 200kmh is about 120mph.

Is it?
I thought it was more like 140 - though one report did say 250 km per hour.

Either way, what is done is done now and sadly two men have lost their lives. Is Santi Cañizares right to say something? Yes I think so, but perhaps not the day after the accident.

Either way, a pretty sure fire way to check out going at that speed if you have a smash

Do modern cars with all their computers etc. keep a record of speeds, like an aircraft's black box?
