The ultimate would have been the 26,000 capacity vast Holmesdale Road End Terrace with a roof covering it.

What a covered end that would have been.

Countless times I got soaked standing on the Holmesdale or at away games but it was all part of being a football fan and supporting your club with your fellow fans, win, lose or draw.

COYP

So, to sum up : you used to be a "true fan", but now that most grounds have seats and covered stands, you no longer are a "true fan" ?

And regardless based on the tense of your post no one should be listening to you as you have just said you used to stand in all conditions therefore you don't anymore therefore your opinion isn't worth the paper I'll wipe my arse with tonight.

HD is disabled I believe so your comments are unwanted and ignorant

I think it's mostly a case of the past being a foreign country where they do things differently. I couldn't countenance standing in the pissing rain for two hours watching (perforce) a game being played in the rain. Apart from anything else (notwithstanding the Chelsea match mentioned above), games played in the rain are invariable crap.

Not happening with any great speed.

Throw a shitload of cash at it and it will happen a lot quicker.

We don't have a shitload of cash.

Stadium?

You mean the corporate main stand.

Sainsbury's end has hand dryers and seats now. All that's changed in 30 years.

New stand means LESS seats that end and it looking more like Lutons stand.

Great.

I believe that one of the main hold ups is they can't locate the owner of one of the houses in Wooderson Close. Other than that I'm not really sure, chances are the hoops the mayors office have created for the club to jump through have caused issues.

- Parish got bored with it.
- Someone needs to come up with a lot of loot to get it going again.
