Was at the 0-5 - Saturday and beautiful sunshine IIRC. Was on the Whitehorse for that - the 0-4 was from the Holmesdale.

I didn't go, but I knew friends of mine were going. I was then driving along Croydon Road towards Purley Way while the game would still have been going on/or just finished when I pulled up alongside them in their car - I couldn't understand how they were there.

The wettest game at Oxford's Manor ground was surely a mid-week minor cup tie which we lost to a last minute Dean Saunders penalty.
We were drenched getting to the ground as the coaches parked miles from the ground and then we suffered torrential rain both during and after the match. Not one of our better away experiences. |

I was at the 5-0 game and the match when it rained but can't remember if it was the same one. One was New Years Day. There was also another in 76-77 when we had half the home end.

Nope. The threads been hijacked by nostalgia now anyway. No way back from that.
Hopefully its terminally kyboshed and Parish has been forced into a rethink.

The 5-0 defeat was also played in torrential rain and it certainly rained goals that day but Oxford had a very good attack including John Aldridge who went on to be a big success at Liverpool

Heard rumours about the new stand from the club yesterday but no concrete update on how things are progressing but they are.

What rumours?

I remember getting hit on the head by a piece of concrete at Cold Blow Lane after a 1-1 FAC game there, I know it was cloudy but not sure if rained that day or not?

We won’t start building the new stand until our League status is secured then we’ll have a quiet summer and not spend a lot because of the new stand then end up in trouble and won’t start work until our league status is secured then have a quiet summer not spend a lot and then end up.........
