It shows that the application gave thought to more than just the main stand. There was some speculation that a ghosted two tier Whitehorse Lane stand could be seen. I would guess there is a long term plan for the Arthur locked in a vault somewhere.

Will be a crying shame if we end up stuck back in the Championship without nothing significant done to the ground. With our ageing squad we are getting closer to another significant crossroads in the history of our club. |

Very true. Its been terrible for years.

Whether the shop opens or closes makes no difference as to the position on the piece of land that is needed for the main stand as that land is not used by Saunsburys in connection with the shop and it will make no difference as to the value of that land.
It would possibly allow the club to rebuy the shop area at a reasonably price and that would give them options for its use and the ultimate expansion of the Sainsbury's end which would be a good thing but it is unlikely to affect the main stand.

I’m hoping that if the miracle happens and Sainsbury’s finally sell, we end up scrapping the plans for the new old stand and create something a bit more cohesive and pleasing to the eye.
It will be quite a moment if and when the club finally buy that Sainsbury’s land back for those of us that were around when we lost it. Thoroughly depressing to see the Whitehorse terrace come down and the ugly boardings spring up. Coincided with the abrupt end to the team of the 80’s and seasons of defeats and utter dross. It was a very aesthetically pleasing ground before that happened and has never been the same since.

I just hope for painted stripes and a square clock back on the AW fascia. Little things mean a lot.
