Hopes for next season
It's been a quiet summer so far, presumably because there are discussions going on at the top with the Americans rumoured to be keen to exit. Which got me thinking, how could the current squad (no additions or transfers out) do next season? Let's not forget, this season was the most comfortable we've ever had int he premier League, and that was despite Wickham barely playing, Benteke out for 5 months, and Zaha also out for about half a dozen games. With so many injuries to our first choice strikers at the same time it was tough. And obviously it took Meyer time to acclimatise to English football but he actually began to impress me with his workrate towards the end of the season.
Obviously no-one knows how many injuries we will get to key players 2019/20 but if the majority could stay fit, and Meyer turns into the key player some always believed we had signed, could we finish Top 10 next season with the current squad?

SP has been liking and commenting lots about what an amazing job Spurs/Levy did without spending a penny, think that, plus the recent accounts tells you in which direction we are heading
If we keep Wilf and AWB, sell Tekkers and bring in a replacement all could be good, barring injuries |

Spurs must be pretty much at their peak without a big spend. Will be interesting to see if Levy decides he is happy with where they are, or if he will invest in the squad.

I think he either invests or loses Pochetino

For most of the season I actually think we were fortunate with injuries. Could have been worse. Losing Benteke at the time didnt seem too much of a loss as he wasnt scoring goals anyway. The problem is that we have a thin squad , so just one or two injuries can make the difference between success and failure. The one area we do have strength and depth is with full-backs, which is just as well as Tomkins and Sakho took turns on the physio couch. Cant see improvement on last season without either squad reinforcements or completely injury free season.

Just a season being conformable for once. That'll do.

I’d be delighted with mid table, crack at the cups and sensible signings. Just build year on year and await the new stand. Better home form would be nice too. |

It would be nice to get a solid start say 8-9 points from the first 5 games.

Were buying Jach Shite again (apart from an over-expensive injured has-been on the last day of the transfer window Insert: Danny Welbeck/Daniel Sturridge for massive wages) Looking forward to struggling for 7-8 months next year to finish 12th again so people can say how great we are doing
