All been done before hasn't it. Its not the word, be it pom, jap, russkie, chink etc so much as the body language and the context. If someone acted like that in public towards one of my foreign friends and one of us met him on the football pitch the next day, you can bet your life it might sway our decision to go in hard on him or not. Mind you he'd be well too fast for me these days, but thats by the by. Two wrongs don't make a right but you can't fix a racist in public, especially if he believes his 'celebrity' status will protect him, which it probably would.
I doubt they'll sack him but might look to shift him somewhere equally troublesome, like Sunderland or Wigan. |

No it isn't fox. You are trained by society in use of language. If not then perhaps you would like to explain why Guy Gibson named his dog n*gger, why this was used in the film but won't be in the remake. For example.

Clearly all to see in the video that the way Jamie Vardy uses it is unacceptable and racist. |

Highly unlikely. Do you really believe the two offences are of equal merit?

Do you think it was a good thing he called his dog ******? Do you think they should use the name in a remake?

Seems extraordinary to us now though, doesn't it, because we view the n word in a negative and derogatory way. Goes to show how the meaning of words is more fluid than many realise, and that we should also be careful how we judge others in hindsight. |

2. Yes definitely because it's a historic event film and the reason the dog is in the forefront is because Gibson used him as the radio codeword for the successful breaching of the Mohne dam. Did anyone write to HBO about use of the word 'Jap' in The Pacific? You either want to see how it was or wrap yourself in ignorance and bullshit.

Those that have a genuine interest in the story could easily read about it from numerous sources. As moral crusades about ignorance and bullshit go this one is pretty small. |

If only a film production would tell us this story accurately instead of just concentrating on 'entertainment'
