He really doesn't. Equally you can see Luka tugging the shit out of the shirt of the guy he's marking.

The view from behind the goal shows a clear foul on the Palace player.

2m 15s on the video

It clearly doesn't. It's 2 players challenging for the ball and Chambers gets the run on Cahill. He doesn't shove him, just bumps into him. Cahill doesn't react.

It's not a foul in the sense the ref missed a blatant one, so it changes nothing. It's a contact sport and Chambers was stronger.

You're seeing something that isn't, which is not what VAR is for.

That is why Roy mentioned their foul on the second goal in his after-match interview as it had an influence on the game and wrongly put Palace 2-0 down leaving us with a mountain to climb which we did.

I have to say I'm with hdeagle on this one. He sticks his hands on Cahill's back and shoves him. Twice.

Klopp and Lampard moaning about VAR today, because decisions that were correct went against them.

The VAR for the disallowed goal today took an embarrassingly long time.

Van Aanholt was obviously offside and nobody would have argued so why was it even reviewed? The ref had given the free kick so there wasn't a goal to "check".

Not too fussed about it but I couldn't understand why this one took quite so long. It looked like it would be a clear cut off or not for PVA on the 'match replay' but maybe there was some nuance or a blade of grass that they needed to check? As I say, not too fussed. It needs improving but just as much it needs treating as BAN instead of a drama every time a decision is made.

Common sense says it was ball to hand today but going by the new rules it was a clear cut penalty

Exactly what i thought.....was such an obvious offside which was given on the field quickly enough yet those behind the screen end up fannying around for far too long. Do they have one / two officials at Stockley Park covering all the games and was there a queue or something.

Originally I thought VAR would benefit the lesser sides as refs had seemed to favour the top teams . This in some respects has proved to be true ,happy days we cry .

But …….what a farcical addition to our game it has been . The jubilation of a goal has gone , the roar of the crowd is almost muted before conformation of a decision is met with a cheer of relief rather than the passion and excitement of a collective cheer .
We had it with the Ayew goal at Arsenal , a moment that should have seen him wheel away to celebrate in front of the fans . Well he did try and make a go of it after about two minutes of waiting for conformation but we all know it really wasn't the same .

Its early days I suppose but the var people really have got to get their act together . The refs need to be in control and if in doubt have a look at the Screen at the touchline .Sides should maybe get an additional two-four calls for it to be looked at but this almost every decision , every goal nonsense has to stop .

Its doing my nut in

The Villa goal looked offside real time Mings celebration was even muted but was not close. Southampton handball was missed because of rushing, it only takes a trailing leg to make what looks offside onside.

I think VAR would improve, it they made a ruling that all of a player needs to be offside for it to be offside.

VAR will kill the excitement of live football if the wait is going to be drawn out for any more time than 30 seconds. IMO

PVA was offside, but the hand ball was a clear penalty under this or last year's interpetation.

I don't think this years interpretation makes that a penalty does it? His arm isnt outstretched or in an in an un-natural position.

I know you can't score any goal if it makes any contact with the hand or arm but it isnt automatically a penalty from any contact.

Maybe I have missed something or I am mistaken. But can you point to me to something that says it is a penalty?

Heard that VAR has increased correct decisions by 9%, it has taken away too much of the atmosphere for such a small uplift.
