Clinton works best with his back to goal. He is phenomenally good at holding the ball up and laying it off (hopefully to an oncoming AJ!) He tends to wait to recieve the ball rather than rush about after it. Clinton's happy to work hard (as he did playing up front on his own against Italy the other day) but it's not the chase after every ball at 90 mph that AJ does. But just because he won't run after everything as much doesn't mean he's not as hard working, or potentially as valuble to the team.
Iother wrds your saying he'll expect AJ to do all the running and moan at everyone if the ball does'nt arrive at the end of his foot like last time he was here. Morrison is a good player but AJ he aint. Why? because he IS lazy. Just because he is'nt the same type of player as AJ does'nt mean he should'nt have to work hard. Teddy Sherringham had no pace whatsoever but this did'nt mean he did'nt work hard.

Speak for yourself. I have many Palace supporting mates and while all acknowledge he was a good player for us in the past none I've spoken to are extatic about him coming back. Will improvre the squad yes but anyone who is expecting us to suddenly go unbeaten for the rest of the season while scoring loads of goals are getting a bit over excited I think

If Worthington stated he will wrap up the Morrison signing next week he will. He is an honest bloke who is also cautious about making bold statments that may not happen. Looks like hes going to Norwich

do you know for a fact we've offered that, it seems a lot

3.1M over 4 years is a lot for a CCC side, especially as he might not be easy to offload if we don't go up within the next two years

However if we have offered this i doubt Norwich would match it as they apparently have a strict wage structure

Believe it or not Worthington is actually not that honest in his transfer dealings. Last season he said how Norwich couldn't afford Dean Ashton and how he would never want to go there, only to unveil him the next day.

If Palace have matched Norwich's offer and have been talking to Clint, I can't think of one reason why he would go there over us.

We'll probably find out tomorrow either way, in all honesty if given the choice of getting Bentley or Morrison, I'd take bentley every day of the week. Morrison would be nice to have, but Bentley is the final piece of the jigsaw.

As usual I agree Jay-Palace,
I would take Morrison back as he would undoubtedly improve our squad but Bentley is what we really need. a creative midfielder that can do that something to unlock a stubborn defence. Bentley (for me) is priority Morrison would be good too though but I wont hold my breath till either have actually signed.

If you ever want your Mum to speak to you again Clinton, you know what to do

Mind you, Norwich have still got two games against Rufus Brevett and we've only got one......

Our problem aint with goalscorers [we already have three] it is creating chances for these strikers to score from.

We haven't currently got a player approaching the creativity of Bentley and so therefore getting him in [or a similar player] must be the main priority.

Morrison won't have much impact if we are going to be supplying him from players such as Soares and Watson, two players who we shouldn't be relying on because they are not ready.

I'm still fairly confident. Unless Norwich have offered him a better deal or he just doesn't want to come back here full stop (unlikely given the fact that he's obviously had talks) I don't see what they can offer that Palace can't and we have geography in our favour ie London where his family are and where he grew up as opposed to the arse end of nowhere out in the sticks. Worthington is probably trying to sound fairly upbeat regardless of whether he knows anything for certain.

If he goes to Norwich then I'll be disappointed but at least we know that Dowie will still have a reasonable budget and over a week to find other players to bring in. Norwich will also have blown all their money on a striker ignoring other areas where it could be spent more wisely in my opinion ie a centre back or central midfielder which could prove a mistake in the long run.

All he needs to do is agree terms with Norwich as fee is agreed! However if he knows we're interested he must be able to easily make his mind up and put that red'n'blue shirt back on! Bit worried about Cardiff though cas we've got Langley on trial and there trying to offload him to make room for a new striker?

Please come back clint! Da Da Da DA, Clint & AJ!

He doesn't strike me as honest at all. He really pissed Tranmere and Everton off during the summer by announcing that Ryan Taylor had been a target of his, but he was signing for Everton much to the surprise of both clubs. Taylor then signed for Wigan about 2 months later.
