We await WHP's comments about this. Maybe someone needs to inform the Football League that Brighton have recently become a massive club and for all these years they had zillions of fans that couldn't be arsed to watch them at a greyhound track but have now dusted off their scarves and bought new cushions to sit on at the Amex.

Attendances are a vital cog of any successful team. Once we reach the Premiership our gates will put us around the middle. That mate is very healthy

Attendances jump from a regular 15,000 to 24,000 in one season. Where were they before?

Is there an attendance league?

I bet all the fans of clubs like Swansea wish they were top of that League rather than actually winning things

I shall feedback on some insights from the 7 and 8 year old Brighton fans that I have in my class tomorrow.

They'll be full of it after half term though they do say that CMS is "really rubbish"

You still haven't grasped that crowds don't get you points have you? Otherwise Arsenal would be challenging for the title instead of mugging their fans off, and Villa wouldn't be scrapping against relegation. Small club mentality.

To be honest I would imagine they speak more sense than their older counterparts on here.

Let's put it out there then, what success have Brighton had since the masses headed for the Amex? Promotion to the Prem? No. Play Offs? Not yet, possibly this season, maybe not. The big money signing of CMS? Nope, he is shit. Oh and 8M losses and so far no repayments to Tony.

You haven't grasped that crowds bring in revenue. According to your owners, the average team should have an income of about £15 million, so safe to say you bring in about that much. Our first season we bought in £22 million, thats £7 million difference. This season your average attendance has increased but so has ours. So over 2 seasons it fair to say that we have approximatly bought in £14 million more than you untll you add the Zaha money that is). I know we spent a lot more than you and made a bigger loss, but thats another story, bottom line is, without them bigger crowds the loss would be bigger or spending less.

What is the definition of success? The last season at Withdean we were successfull because we gained promotion into the Championship, yet being in the Championship is not a success for you (seemingly) as you have been at least at this level for 35 years.

Last season we finished our highest position for over 20 years (10th place), why isn't that a successful season on the pitch? This season looks like we will finish higher than last, why isn't that a successfull season? There is always the next step you can look at to show us we havn't been a success (not being in the Premiership), but success is about the last step you took aswell (finishing in the highest position for 20 years).

Bigger crowds make no difference if you are losing money. We get around 16-17000 and have lost around 4 million a season .You get around 25000 and lose 8 million a season. It is ridiculous economics and your income can only go down because you are full (unless you are promoted)whereas ours can go up if crowds increase. You haven't even started paying for the stadium yet.

Our income will go up because of sponsership (our sponsership deals are league 1 level), that is what Barber is for (Tony isn't stupid and Barber has a track record for it) He has announced that negotiations with national companies are going well with several sponsership deals in the pipeline. At Withdean no-one would have been interested in us. Then there is the roots of the academy, you know how lucrative a revenue stream that can be if setup right (that is something we can look forward to in about 10 years time if set-up right). So there is still room to increase income.
