First album - New Boots and Panties - Still sounds good

Best from the late 70s is hard as there's a lot to choose from. Scary Monsters would win it if it weren't that Heroes wasn't on it and it was released in 1980 and I'm too young for Roxy Music when they were good. Also there's The Specials, All Mod Cons, Plastic Letters, The Clash (White Man in Hammersmith Palais is one of the best songs ever) and even stuff like High Voltage was worth a listen.

However, if pushed it's Machine Gun Etiquette by the Damned. Used to sing my kids to sleep to Smash it Up

Worst Beatles album. Has some fantastic songs on it, but that is overshadowed by the pants and mediocrity that fill up the rest of it. Bungalow Bill, Why don't we do it in the road, don't pass me by, revolution 9, etc.

Second question before I commit myself. Is it my opinion of the greatest album of my era, or the perceived music medias opinion of the greatest album during that era, which using the 20's would be 1975 - 1985 in my case.

I ask, because there is stuff I didn't listen to then, that I listen to now and like, but didn't like then and visa versa.

I think I'm over complicating this aren't I...

Black Sabbath Volume IV was an album that informed me that while I also loved Prog, Pop, Classical and a load of other stuff, four blokes from Birmingham meant I would forever adore a right old racket played well and loud.
