Murray
Adone
Locadia
Iran international whose name I cant spell

Now Maupay.

Much better than what we have. Clearly.
Disagree. They relied massively on Murray last season. The other lot were incredibly average.

Yep, Broghton’s Strike force is extremely poor and they couldn’t score goals last season. Maupay is very much needed for them

Still better than the absolute gash we have up front.

Murray and Maupay are very good.

I'd take them over a man made a glass, a striker who has lost the plot and whatever other scraps we have up front.

Hopefully that changes with a fabulous new striker signing that we will be making shortly...

If maupay is as good a Gayle, and he seems a similar player in terms of finishing then combined it’s Murray that’s a good front two we should have let mature. They’d get enough goals

Murray is about to turn 36 however so will he play enough? Will he do 2/3 games a week?

Will maupay make the step up or be the next in a long long line of prolific championship scorers that don’t quite make it

Honestly don’t know about the other two but they didn’t really do much without murraynlast season

Brighton have decent strikers already so this is doubly disappointing.

Do they?

Murray had a good first half of last season and then struggled and behind him their next highest scorer was CB Duffy with 5, as a striker Andone managed 3 and Locadia 2. A change in the way they play might help their strikers but with Murray about to turn 36 i would have taken our strike force over theirs and that is saying something! Maupay has to work out for them or they are likely to be in real trouble still.

So they have a 36 year old striker who may have another season in him but struggled at times last year and a championship striker who hasn't played at this level before. There are many players who have done very well at championship level who havent made the step up.

Our strikeforce is terrible. Maupay and Murray will be good for them and one of their other expensive strikers may come good during their second season.

But the point is - we badly need a new striker and Maupay would have been a top signing.

I believe Murray scored 13 premier league goals last season.

If that's struggling then I'd take that any day.

Benteke, Wickham, Sorloth and Ayew scored 3 goals between them all season.

Ah so one of their under performing players might come good but ours will not?

Murray will struggle more as he becomes one of the oldest players in the Premier League, and just because Maupay scored lots in the Championship doesn't men he will in the PL, he might but there are so many cases of when it doesn't work out. Dwight Gayle is an example, Bobby Ried was second top scorer when Cardiff came up. Time will tell but you are making huge assumptions on players scoring goals for others whilst at the same time dismissing our players.

Still not the 15 goals Benteke scored in the PL for us a couple of years ago. Doesn't mean they will do it the next year, and with Murray's age it is even less likely.

If we had of signed Maupay you would have said it was a great signing.

Murray has been superb for them and scored a lot of goals last season. He will eventually stop but at 36 is still ahead of Benteke.

I'd love our strikers to come good but can't see it. We urgently need at least one new first choice striker. To not buy one would be a disaster.

Any way you carve it up Murray has been a revelation for them and we have spunked a load of dough up the wall thus far on a mis-firing no goals Benteke

One good season followed by a pathetic last two seasons.

I would take Murray's 12 premier league goals in 2017/18 and 13 goals in 2018/19 over Benteke's 15 in 2016/17 and 2 in each of the last two seasons. And let's not even get started on Benteke's wages which are obscene for his contribution.

Anyway, moving on - I think we can agree a new striker is a must.

I really like this one though- of all the strikers weve allegedly been linked with this is the one I would like to see happen.

9 in 14 starts and 15 subs (9 in the equivalent of 17 full games)

Season before that?

13 in 26 and 3 subs?

Before that?

10 in 24 and 2

Before that?

19 in 32 and 2

The fact is that until the past 2 seasons Benteke had performed in every one of his PL seasons, if he played, he scored goals. So far Roy is the only manager he has ever had who has not got goals from him. Might be injury, might be confidence, might be the way he plays.

The other point is some teams put a priority in creating chances with a philosophy of we will outscore the opposition.

Other teams are all about not conceding and nicking the odd goal or two on the break.

Strikers in the former look good and defenders in the latter look good, and often vice versa.
