Yes was great to see him so vocal and with great authority. This squad was crying out for players like that.

McCarthy would compete for that.

Take back my original opinion of this signing (Numb) , played a blinder today by doing what defenders are expected to do , old school stuff like clearing the lines , communicating well , leading & clattering forwards , welcome to CPFC GC
What a great result |

He was asked about what it was like playing at old Trafford, said doesn’t matter who it is city, spurs etc, old Trafford tough place to play at but even more sweeter cause it was Palace. He gets us.

Great signing!
I remember when it was announced he had signed a lot of fans were underwhelmed. Some of us thought this was a shrewd move to sign an experienced, talented player, who has won everything ,on a free. Credit Roy for picking him. Even though Dann hadn't done much wrong I felt Cahill was needed for this game for his experience. Last edited by NorthPalace23; 24-08-2019 at 07:45 PM. |

Exactly when you consider that our formidable pairing of Sakho and Tomkins are injured. Shrewd piece of business and I mean no disrespect to Dann who has been a fantastic player for us. |

I love the way he heads it away from danger, a calm presence!

Has the high-level football IQ and leadership to still be a solid presence in our team for a couple of years yet, even if his body is aging.
Damo v2 but with proper Prem level ability. |

His post match interview reeks of a manager in waiting.
Speaks very well, articulates his message and seems very composed. Lads must've really enjoyed his presence out on the pitch. Shrewd signing might turn out to be a brilliant signing. |

I am converted and apologise for doubting him. He's Palace.

I really like the way when PVA was moaning about his leg with about 60 seconds of added time to go, Cahill just took hold of him, basically told him to 'shut up, get on with it' and literally pushed him towards getting back in to position.
That's the kind of leadership we've been missing. |

Saw him organizing people at corners also (defending).
To be honest I didn't notice him that much (apart from the yellow card/could have been red incident) apart from the organizing he was doing. Which is always a good thing in my mind. As an aside, what the hell is the new rule about players in the defensive wall now? Whatever it was United players seemed to be doing nothing different in that regard. |
