You don’t get proven premier league goalscorers in their mid-20s for less than £20m. This would be a great deal.

They've already decided he's not got much of a future there and as we're the only ones that have shown a proper interest are willing to let him go before we spunk the AWB money on that Russian kid? Purely speculating obviously
Speaking of which, Michy would be cheaper in terms of transfer and we already know he fits in with our team. No brainer if the wages aren't crazy

Sounds too good to be true. Is Wilf going the other way?

I don't care if he cooks a roast dinner in the centre circle for 90 minutes - he's a 1 in 2 striker in this league and at £22m that is insane to turn down.

Sign him up. Useless outside the box but by god he is lethal inside it if you get the ball to him. His goal record for us was very good.

I think when he was on loan we split his wages 50:50 with Chelsea and we were paying 65k per week which would make his full wage 130k per week that’s right at the very top end of what we can afford assuming Benteke goes

See, 130k is too much for me.

Useless is harsh. His hold up play, passing and dribbling is okay for a team of our level. And obviously his finishing and positioning is up there with the best to ever play for palace.

Would probably require one or two of Wilf, Benteke, Meyer and Sakho moving on.

£22 Million would be ok but it is the Wages that he would be on which could cause an issue. Only 18 months left on his Contract so would be even cheaper in the Summer but Chelsea may feel they need to sell while the going is good.
Wilf going to Chelsea as part of the deal would reduce our exposure in the sell on clause and also give him an opportunity to play Champions League football. |

Spot on. We will need to start rebuilding the squad soon and need to spend our money a lot more wisely than we have before. Of course he's a massive improvement on Benteke on the same money, but is still a gamble and takes money away from other positions we will need in future.
I can see Parish being very tempted by this though as ticks all his usual boxes. |

I am not bothered if we get him or not
He seems to be quite inconsistent and doesn't contribute a lot when on a run without goals If I remember right scored early on in his loan and his goal ratio only really improved by him adding the two goals in his last game when he was probably hoping for a permanent transfer |

Ok at a decent price but not worth high wages on a long term deal

The only way I can see this happening is if he’s part of a swap deal with Zaha (should the embargo be lifted). Batshuayi’s wage demands will probably be the same amount we lose from Zaha going. He wanted big bucks when West Ham tried to sign him on a permanent deal before he came to us.

Seems like a complete non-story if they can't legally bring in a replacement. Doesn't matter that he's their third choice striker, as no club is stupid enough to leave themselves with only two options at striker

If Batshuayi joined us, the player who would lose out would be who? Ayew would be the obvious choice, the player who has scored more than half our goals from open play. Take out Ayew and you change the dynamic of the team. Ayew works really hard, he spends more time in our half than in their box, Batshuayi is a goalscorer a poacher but for hat you need to create chances. We are the 3rd least creative team in the PL at the moment, we don't create the chances for poachers and finishers. Leicester who are just below us are again reliant of the ability of Vardy to run beyond defences and finish. Jordan is playing well, he has had some good finishes (and missed a couple) but we have not created much for him, or Zaha. Spending huge amount of money on strikers with the way we play is a huge gamble. |
