Orient built flats in corners of their ground (or sold land to developers who built). Trouble is that you only get the cash boost once and then that land has gone for good potentially blocking future development.

We've got enough people at Palace over-staying their welcome already

Ways round this - if thinking long term then shares ownership (which is becoming more popular in London) or rental yields.

Can you imagine wanting to live in a house with several thousand football fans sitting on top of it ?

Zero chance from a £ point of view as would realistically cost more than the stand.

The chutzpah of the bloke! Could cause a bit of a schism in our support although he is on the liberal left of Israeli politics and has set up a scholarship program for Israeli and Palestinian students amongst other things. Not sure he is much of a friend to the climate with his oil businesses although he seems to be involved in various climate initiatives, and implicated in some dodgy spying activities. Since when have we become a club that would make any business decision based on the climate change argument ?

i heard it was the other way round but certainly one is supposed to be keener to get out than the other.
Anyone including Donald Trump could be a minor shareholder as everything is hidden away in Delaware.

Is there any reason why you think IBG might already be a shareholder? (genuine question)

I know what you mean but I just think we need as much space as possible to improve and enlarge the stadium, rather than sacrifice some of it for residential property. What I mean is you could create "property space" anywhere if you really wanted to, how about on top of the train station or the petrol garage. Or how about the old Alliance pub which seems to have been suspiciously empty for years now, despite having a make over. Why should Selhurst Park have property crammed into it's already limited space (thanks to Bloye and Croydon Council) when there's plenty of room elsewhere in the area.

Just speculation I'm afraid - but I'm guessing these people might already know each other, via the wealthy Jewish network.

On the 'houses conundrum': years since I've wandered down Copers Cope road, but I understand that the Goals property, that we have on long-term lease, is pretty large. Maybe room to apply for a small, unobtrusive, housing development on a small part of it ? I know it's a different borough, but it would be a smarter address for the residents.

The flats/houses are on Whitehorse Lane - the other side of Sainsbury. The construction of the store, as far as I remember, was designed so that it was sufficiently load-bearing for an upper tier to be built. Though, of course, there may be legal/ownership agreements that make that difficult.
