Combined with the England scandal, what respect does he "deserve"?

We have bigger name players at the time of signing than both those teams. People like to say we lack ambition, but we made ambitious signings regardless if they worked or not.

Nonsense. Allardyce galvanised a team that was heading for relegation. We were all over the place until he sorted us out. But you let your prejudices against Allardyce cloud your judgement.

He deserves total respect for the job he did for us. He was good for us and we were good for him.

As an aside, the England issue was hardly a scandal. Quite minor really, though he was naive.

I agree we have made ambitious signings - the problem is that we often target the wrong type of player, we over pay, we leave our business late so we pay at the top of the scale, and we've had so many different managers that we've ended up with an imbalanced squad. That is gradually being put right though.

The other problem is that some of our top signings, notably Benteke, have under-performed.

Watford have signed better players for less money and more re-sale value. Bournemouth are targeting the best profile of player in my opinion - lots of good young players who can make an impact now and whose value will increase.

So Luka, PVA and Schlupp contributed nothing? Remember that idiot had Kelly playing left back

Didn't we not have a left back when Kelly played there? PVA and Schlupp hadn't signed and Souare was out injured. And the powers that be were happy to only have one left back in the whole squad.

A lot of other teams are a lot more creative at getting around the FFP rules. They declare a wage for a player, then have add ons like image rights, appearance bonus, loyalty bonus etc, which donít come under the FFP.
So the charts with wages donít tell the whole truth, as with most things in football itís all smoke and mirrors.

Agreed - sadly. It's heading for an implosion. And I'm looking forward to that moment.

There is always a clamour for just accepting what we have as we are such a well run club and donít spend money we donít have etc yet we are facing another awful and potentially disasterous window given our league position. We apparently despite all these years in the premier and carefully selected investors canít afford a pit to pis$ in due to previous overspending and we have another relegation dogfight to endure.

The "previous overspending" that has enabled us to have "all these years" in the Premiership?

If you feel that aggrieved by it all , I would suggest you go and have some of the 16/1 that is freely available for Palace to be relegated. Might curb some of your grievance if it does actually happen.

Well I donít gamble, Iíd never bet on Palace if I did, 50 odd years of supporting has taught me that so do you have any other bright ideas?

Are you happy with the position (please donít just repeat the years in the Prem or Iíll counter with employing Hollowhead who did his upmost to stop us getting here from a strong position!) we are in and another fiasco if a window?

Oh here we go. Some good results and Parish is a hero again. Absoutle nonsense. Terrible transfer windows and this is looking the worst and suddenly people are suggesting he's making 4D chess moves and it was all part of his master plan. Wait till we need a decent striker again. He hasn't backed Roy at all

Add in pay offs last year to Alladyce and FdB and £100m comes up very quickly. No idea if the figures for the non 25 named players are accurate but they probably balance out.

We didn't pay off Allardyce, he walked out to 'retire' (laughable I know). SP smelt the rat he is and we were compensated £2m if he took another job, which he obviously did.
That's how I understood it anyway.

What is wrong with our position ? I am certainly happy to be where we are. why is it a fiasco of a window ? Maybe your expectations are different from the people that know the 'facts' ?

Ok, I was sure there was a comment on the accounts that there was still some payment due to Sam - the last accounts certainly cover his period in charge so would have whatever bonus he got for keeping us up - £1m at least I would think.

If this was Bournemouth people would be going mad.

It’s insane how high our wage bill is.
