79/80/81 season televised games

Dear all

Need help finding what games were televised on tv during the above season. In particular trying to gain video footage of league games with Orient, Luton 3-3 draw and the cup game at qpr's then plastic pitch. I know the luton game was on the big match and possibly the O's game was a cup game on match of the day I think.

I did have them but they were lost in a fire . Trying to get the videos so my son can watch them and see his then young dad run around.

The QPR quarter final (the goal at least) is on the Centenary DVD, available at the club shop.

The original Orient FA Cup match was on the Big Match and the replay was on Sportsnight. I have no idea how you'd go about finding a copy. I don't know about the Luton one.

A few people here were involved in putting the Centenary DVD together who probably have a good idea about what still exists and what's been lost. It might be apparent from the above or if they read this, they might contact you.

By the way, you've now joined an illustrious list of at least 3 ex-Palace players to have posted here; welcome. Looking at the records, I was one of only about 200 Palace fans that saw your debut at Oldham. Replacing Brian Bason, you could only have looked like an massive improvement to most of us. All I remember was that it was fecking freezing.

I'm sure there's a lot of us here who would like to hear some stories about Palace in those days, particularly any about Messrs Mullery and Noades. Feel free indulge us in as much sordid detail as possible ... please. Cheers

I'd be interested to know how your career went after you left Palace and what your doing now. I have a mate who played in the same Palace team as you.

I'd be interested as well. For the record, the QPR match had about 10 - 15 minutes on the box, most the time was allocated to the smaller all-London clash between Chelsea and Tottenham.

I have somewhere the QPR cup game which included the interview with noades and on the same tape a 3-3 draw with luton.
