Clyne Summer 2019

Crystal Palace and West Ham are rivalling Bournemouth with interest in a permanent deal for Nathaniel Clyne, Sky Sports News understands.

Napoli are also understood to be interested in the right-back, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Bournemouth.

Eddie Howe is understood to be keen to bring in the England international full-time - with Liverpool wanting a £15m fee.

Clyne made 15 appearances for Howe after joining in the January transfer window, having found his first-team opportunities limited at Anfield.

Both Palace and West Ham were also keen on a loan for Clyne in the January window.

Watched him a lot this year and he’s still got it. Prone to the odd lapse in concentration but quick enough still to get himself out of trouble. Heard a few rumours toward the end of the season around his personal life meaning Eddie Howe might pass on him , would be good if we could swoop.

So much affection for Palace that he did not accept player of the year award? He was not that good against us for Bournemouth and buying players indeclyne is not the way to go.

Whilst game was toe to toe, Bournemouth's revival for 2nd half was due to his switch from LB to RB.

If AWB were to leave, then yes. Did he get a cap under Hodgson?

This. Apart from not chopping Zaha down properly he had a good second half. It's a no brainer for me IF AWB leaves

13. He was first choice right back for a fair stretch under Hodgson.

I'm not normally one for the ex-players, returning as Ayers again but if AWB goes, Clyne is the best possible replacement.
Sell AWB for £30m+, Clyne in for £15m- isn't bad business at all.

And Wilf left him in on his arse for the 5th goal but then I suppose he does that to a lot of players.

I wasn't terribly convinced by his performance 2 weeks ago, and the lack of any reciprocation or acknowledgement towards the fans who clapped him was also quite off putting to be honest. If we're really running out of options, then perhaps. But I'd rather hold on to our current full backs and put the £15 million towards someone like Che Adams or Harry Wilson.

If we sold Benteke for £15M and AWB for £40M, bringing in Delph and Clyne with a £25M profit I’d be ok with that.

Story would only ever have a grain of truth in it if we are going to sell AWB, we hardly need a 15M RB otherwise

Yeah I dunno maybe he just had the hump having been given the run around by Wilf and getting soundly beaten on the last day of the season.
