Jarrod Bowen signs for west Ham

Such an exciting player full of energy and direct . Can play wide and inside forward type of role . Out of contract end of season , young but experienced - a player I have wanted to come to Palace for couple of years

I posted this on another thread yesterday

I was at Boro/Hull today & watched him closely. Always busy, always looking to make something happen, very direct. Didn't play as an out and out winger especially in the 2nd half when Hull had an extra man and pushed the full backs up high, allowing him to play almost as an old fashioned inside forward.

My only comment was that I thought he looked like he could lose just a little bit of weight - made me realise how trim Wilf & Andros are.

Will surely have way too many clubs interested for him for us to compete. Can't imagine Roy spending 20m on a young winger too.

Not a chance we will get this bloke now. As per usual, we have ****ed around for too long and will now have to compete with much better teams. Wouldn't it be great to take a risk or two in the transfer market just once?

Doubt it would be huge risk , even if he wasn't a success , there would be a demand from Championship clubs . I agree I doubt we will go for him , but if we did in January we could be in with a shout as unlikely top 6 will be interested . Although he hasn't the natural skills of Zaha ( not many do ) , I could see him being very effective for the team which may be better for us in long run .

Out of contract too? Just seems too perfect. Good young player who I think can make the step up, and even if he doesn’t, we could sell him back to the championship for good money.

Jarrod Bowen continued to enhance his reputation as one of the best players in the Championship with two goals as Hull hammered Preston 4-0 at the KCOM Stadium.
The 22-year-old broke the deadlock in the first half, taking his tally for the club to 50, and rounded off the scoring with his 14th of the season.

Yeah probably St Maximin all over again. Would be worth asking the question this coming window, see if Hull might be willing to sell him to avoid him leaving free.

At least I don't feel that gutted about Neil Maupay and Che Adams anymore, although they still could come good.

We should be doing a damn sight more than looking. I really hope our plans are well advanced by now as it's pretty clear with Wardy's injury that the squad is pretty threadbare in places.

Failing to address our shortcomings in this window could leave us vulnerable to late rallies by the teams we expect to struggle. God forbid we have another cluster of close-run things where we fail at the last moment to land our targets. I honestly believe our success (or otherwise) in this window could prove critical.

Maupay has 4 goals in 11 starts in a mediocre team, I think he has been relatively good. Should only get better too.

Yep, Maupay has done well and Im sure hell get better. Hes scored as many goals in 11 premier league games as Benteke has in over two seasons.
