Connor Wickham watch

Watched him in the second half against Luton tonight , well off the pace , couldn’t win headers , slow and ineffectual sadly

Watched the 2nd half of Wednesday vs Luton tonight.

The Owls were appalling in a 1nil defeat and I think Connor kicked the ball 3 times.

He was the epitome of “anonymous”.

He must have been sensational in the first half then. 36 touches and won 8 headers in the game, only 1 player won more.

That said he must have been even worse last game as he had a pass completion of about 13% i think so 53% tonight was a massive improvement.

Things not right at Wednesday as after a good run they now haven't won in 5 and dropped out of the play-off picture, their last win was against Leeds and they have lost to Wigan and Luton since.

I watched it too and yes, he was anonymous, but that was an utter dog shit performance from the whole Sheffield Wednesday team against the worst team in the league. Makes you wonder if we could have sent him to another club.

Was booked in the first half and then committed three fouls during the remainder of the game, so lucky not to have got a second yellow and sending off.
It's clear that he's still building his level of match fitness.

Looked awful (as expected).

Hoping he can build some fitness and eventually get a couple of goals. Would be nice to get a fee for him.

I can’t believe we have allowed such a talent out on loan with no recall option, I knew he’d be brilliant, this is typical Palace, what we’d give for him now, way better than stealing a living Benteke....
Sorry wrong thread, won’t be relevant for another month....

I was going to write something negative here. Let's just say that I hope both CB and CW can contribute to the club in the next 18 months. If CW can get himself up to speed in Sheffield, I call that a win.

I think that sums him up good for 30mins so a decent sub i think he will be on the bench next game. Its the best thing we could have done this will make him or break him.

Judging by his Instagram feed he’s more worried by his blocked sink than scoring goals

That's reflected in his career record. I've never quite understood this view that if we had kept him he would suddenly solve our problems and become a regular goalscorer, despite the fact that he has never been one for us, or anyone else for that matter

Over his entire career he averages about 1 goal in every 5 appearances. I appreciate some of those appearances have been off the substitutes bench, but it's still a pretty pitiful record for a centre forward. The fact is that, for the most part, goalscoring is not what he does

Isnít everyone a little quick to condemn him at the moment. He has hardly been at a new club for 5 mins. Joined a team with problems and is very short of game time after a long time out. Piling in on him seems more than premature.

Donít we all want him to do brilliantly? Even if we then sell him, we will get more. If he comes back fit and with goals we have a player. But like every other thread it seems as if most reach for the keyboard to express their negativity or have a go.

Yet people still back Bendonkey to come good. After being a complete useless shithouse for near on 3 years. Incredible

Of course we don’t want him to do well....every single player we have is total sh*t and should be playing in the Conference, Roy should be in a care home and SP should be running a stall in Croydon market.....don’t you get the posting guidelines to allow you to join the BBS?

I want him to do well but heís not up to our level.
