Max Meyer leaves by mutual consent

Still think we wasted him but now with Eze here I really cant see a place for him so I hope he goes and finds somewhere to actually crack on

Talented player, but not the right fit here. He should go this window if possible and get his career back on track.

Would have said get rid this Jan to free up wages but with Schluppy’s injury he might be needed on the bench moving forward.
Unless if we get rid in Jan we might be able use some funds to bring someone in on loan. I think Max is a talented player, he just doesn’t fit in our system.

He has played 9 times in the last year, he is not playing because Roy chooses not to select him. If he signs a pre-contract with Koln then they are the only club he can move to anyway. Regardless of the various rumours as to his wages he will be on a significant wage and for someone who is nowhere near the 1st team picture, if the opportunity is there to move him on this month and save wages this year then we should take it IMO. |

Don’t see Koln taking him this permanently this window. They’re one point off the bottom three so I’d say it’s unlikely they’ll want to be giving out big contracts. A loan more likely surely.

Part of me wants to know if we're getting a new manager before letting him go.

If his contract is up in the summer then a loan is effectively a permanent transfer for all we care, the goal would just be getting the wage allocation back to use elsewhere

Sort of this. But at the same time even if we are it is probably way too late

We are not getting rid of Hodgson this season which means that Meyer is out of contract before we bring a new manager in.

Yes we all understand this.

You were the on who asked if we might be getting a new manager before letting him go.
Now you say you already knew the answer to that. ![]() |

If he goes before the end of the season we would be getting rid, he would have been sacked.
I think we all know he is most likely to retire with dignity at the end of the season. |

Same. Just hasn’t fit in or had good run here.

Or tried in training. Or performed poorly in training.
Nobody but the club staff know for sure. |

Probably fair, at most we can only speak to potential here I guess without an eye behind the curtain
