I wonder with more midfielders available and Wilf out if we will see 4 or 5 in midfield, maybe 4-4-2 or 4-5-1(4-2-3-1). I don't think we will see 5-3-1 but you never know.

Would sincerely hope we would look start with 11 players on the pitch.

I know the ref is like a 12th man at Old Trafford, but I hadn't relaised they were actually taking one away from the visiting team as well

From Matt Woosnam
Wilfried Zaha will be out for "a couple of weeks" says Patrick Vieira. James McArthur and Nathan Ferguson have been training with the team, but not available for tomorrow. Joachim Andersen progressing "slowly" #CPFC |

Doesn’t sound like Vieira plans to play Ahamada or Lokonga next to Doucoure:
“Ahamada is really mobile, running in behind, stretching the opposition team. His intensity and work on the field is really good and that is what I am really pleased that we brought him into the football club. “[Lokonga] has experience of knowing the Premier League. He has got technical ability to play well and to improve our play. I still believe that there is more to come from him, because he is capable of running in behind and getting involved in the opposition box. His mobility and strength will help us.* To view the link you have to Register or Login Suggests we will be returning to 4-3-3 with two midfielders ahead of Doucoure and attempt to get back to pressing high like last season. |

Only we could sign two midfielders and still end up with Schlupp in midfield

It will be quite likely Hughes or Schlupp will be playing for the first few games with cameos from the new lads.

I could see that too but one of the new guys may also start in a midfield of 3 with the likely loser being Eze who will either play out wide while Wilf is out of be on the bench.
