All jokes aside, this is exactly the type of striker we should be looking for: quick, works hard and can score a bit. Only thing I’d question is his age, but we need more experience in the squad anyway. The truth is we should be moving Mateta and Edouard on this summer, if we can. They don’t suit the Vieira style.

Back to the pub league we go.

It used to work for Bert Head 50-odd years ago - there were some good players to be had and he found some. Often he would go for a weekend break and come back with a few gems in tow, there were a lot of decent players to be had. I fear those days are long gone.

The transfer window closed 2 weeks ago. Even if Mbappe wanted to sign on a free for £1 per week wages, we'll not be signing anyone for 5 months. Will file under never heard of him, unlikely, but will probably score 40 goals for Leicester or West Ham next season.
