Season ticket talk/arguments 23/24
Must be renewal time again soon, isn’t it?
We’re getting to that time of the year again whereby we pick the bones out of; - Season ticket costs - Who’s moving to another location in the ground because of the drum/person nearby that farts/person that can’t control their anger/standing/sitters - Who’s jacking it in because we’re shit/manager clueless/board don’t invest (add any other you desire) - Who’s coming back after an abstinence - Who’s joining for the first time. ![]() FTR, here’s a recap of last season’s costs for guidance when they are announced. ![]() ![]() Last edited by andyocpfc; 17-02-2023 at 07:33 AM. |

Hoping for my family who are all scattered around the LH to be able to finally get together in a full reset of seats / safe standing.
Was hoping we would have been in the comfy padded seats of the new main stand by now but oh well LH for another 10 or so years. Hoping the prices are frozen or even reduced.....bit too wishful?

Although with the cost of living issues going on, I can’t see for the life of me the prices being reduced, especially when we sell out of most/all games.

Imagine they'll be frozen for Phase 1/2 renewals but anyone looking to move seat or buying fresh will pay a premium....pretty sure that's the same as it was this season

When they have advertised "price freezes" in the past they have frozen the final price and offered it as early bird price. For LH that means a £60-110 increase. Really hope this isn't the case!!!!

Jacking it in after 33 years as a ST holder.

How come? Always good to gauge why people chuck it in, or move seats etc. |

Not sure yet. After 38 years might stop - too expensive, cr*p football, that bloody drum and singing, people standing up in front of block F at the start of games - but might not as would get discount in another 3 years.

1 is the way the club dealt with me regarding the ST cards last summer and how McGowan spoke to me in various discussions. As it all boiled down to a piece of plastic being politely requested by a fan of over 30 years, then it opened my eyes to how the club view me/us. 2. VAR . Going to games used to be enjoyable as the highlights would the feeling of excitement and adrenaline rush when a goal is scored or the sick feeling of a goal against. I can put up with transport issues, scheduling horrors, crap football , poor atmosphere, etc as long as there is the chance of enjoyable moments. However, it is impossible to truly celebrate a goal now and very little about the game or the Premier League is fun or a buzz. Going to my non league club over the last few years has reminded me if how enjoyable the simple game can be if there is no meddling in it. |

I would like to hopefully move forward a bit in the Holmesdale Upper. I sit a couple of rows from the very top and I just cannot manage the stairs up to my seat on my own any more. I am amazed to be honest that from a health and safety point of view with the steepness of the steps that there isn't a handrail. Coming down the stairs in particular I just feel like I am about to go over.
Never had this until about the last year, and I've had the same seat for nearly 20 years, but I guess we all get older at some time. In a perfect world I would move to a good view in the Main Stand, but in reality I don't want to be over there long term because when they replace it with the new one, I can see season tickets in that stand costing an absolute bomb! I will hopefully get to move when they have a date to swap seats. |

What really grates is I pay to be in the stadium and don't know what's going on, to compound it I sit with my son in the Whitehorse so cannot see the screen, have mates watching live, on streams, etc, telling me whats happened to disallow a goal, rubbish and is taking the p!ss out of the supporter in the ground but ultimately, they don't care Will all change when we get relegated mind, plastic season ticket sir, of course, anything for that £500 |

I to will not be renewing I am in the process of moving houses and i can not justify the extra outlay.
I may invest in a membership and try to get to a few games. its sad as I will miss the social aspect of going having a few beers before the game with my mates but at the moment I will not miss the football one bit. |

Fifty years for me and I will be renewing. I am getting a little bored with the Premier League mind. When clubs like Chelsea spend £600m on players it ruins the League as a competition and games against the glamour teams are now boring. The problem being there are more and more of them.
Whilst relegation feels like a failure the actual games would be better. |

I'm still debating.
I'm one of the original E400 who was moved. Originally right to the back of the Upper Tier with a friend. But he stopped going after a year due to illness, cost and not liking the new seat. I then moved to nearer the front of the Upper Tier on my own. I do really like my seat now, but going on my own just isn't the same, before we used to do the pub beforehand and now it's just me getting a train on my own. Missed a few games this year as I just couldn't be bothered and I'm not sure I can warrant the cost. A shame really, used to love going with a friend, and we also knew all the people around us, which I don't have any more. This could be my last year, but I said that last year and still renewed, but £600+ is a lot to save for something I don't entirely love doing any more. |

It's tempting to not renew and go more regularly to Tonbridge Angels but I know that if i do that I will regret it. I have a seat in the gallery which I consider the best seats in the ground and it would be very difficult to give it up

The only thing making me think twice is the parking around selhurst nowadays it’s taking longer and longer to find a space I travel 70 + ,miles to get to home games now , when I lived in Croydon I’d get the train but it’s bit long winded to get to selhurst from where I live now
Also night games are a total pain as more time than not the motorways are closed for maintenance on the journey home That said I’ll do another season but if those aboveget any worse this could be my last season |

I quite often flog my evening games due to the ballache often with trains etc and finishing work. However, I like to have the option to go or not depending on my circumstances rather a than fishing to find a space I want. Yes, it costs me money to sell back to the club which they sell instantly but it works well the system. I don’t like flogging my ST(s) online.

And yes, if I could change anything, it would be to kick VAR into touch and as far away from football as possible. Whilst it generally gets the decisions right (certainly not all as we’ve seen of late), it’s removed a massive part of the excitement of going to live matches.
