Player exodus if relegated
I wasn’t particularly worried about relegation prior to Veira sacking but apparently we are deep in a relegation battle.
So as Palace are not hot on forward or succession planning, thought it be worth considering which players would likely be off if we go down, and keeping in mind that Hodgson couldn’t stop Watford’s freefall, and who are the ultimate panic button pressers Zaha / free Eze / seems distracted after reported toon interest prior to WC Too good to stay ; Ghuei Olise Mitchell Andersen? Also which younger players maybe offered new contract, that may not have been kept on if retain premier league status ; Banks ? |

Not something to particularly pay attention to until closer to the end of the season if we are still in trouble.
But something I would say is that the silver lining to getting relegated is that we have a good number of assets that we can offload and recuperate the cash. Wilf’s wages at the same time. But at the same time we’d also have a number of academy products close to championship ability to be able to step up. We’d be in a lot better position than most if we were relegated. |

Quite mental watching people so confidently dismiss Roy’s ability to keep Palace up based on a stint at a Watford team, with a far weaker squad than ours, in a far more perilous position, with a far worse run of fixtures.
This is the man who kept up a Palace team with a 35 year old Gary Cahill & Scott Dann as a CB pairing up by 16 points. I refuse to believe people aren’t just trolling. Like by all means be against the appointment, support Vieira. But acting like we are dead certs to go down when we are 3 points clear of the relegation zone and have the best run in of anyone is just trolling. And if you’re not, please don’t disappear in May when he’s kept us up. And perhaps from then on, show him a little bit more respect. Because without him, we’d be truly ****ed. |

I think it's a pretty valid thread.
To ignore this is to have our heads in the sand... People always complain on here that we don't plan ahead, I would think that what the OP says should be very much in a folder somewhere in Parish's office. |

Mitchell too good to stay in your opinion says all we need to know about this thread especially when you are also unsure about Andersen.

Not realy in our hand s if Andersen guehi doucoure olise want to go be stupid if we got the right fee to force them to stay they would just play up and there fees would go down
Mitchell and eze might have interest in them on previous form Sp might want edouard and mateta of wage bill same even with keeper Wilf would walk That would leave us with some of the players prem don't want and some journeyman that we spend a percentage of what we get for the stars on and some of the youngsters coming threw that should be enough to avoid relagation to tier 3 saying that probably lot of older fans thought that back in 1973 Bigger more ambitious clubs in championship then palace so don't see us getting promoted under this ownership. |

Bit premature but personally I’d be devastated if there wasn’t a mass exodus. Leaving aside the players I’d be disappointed to lose (Guehi, Olise, Doucoure etc) there’s a whole bunch of rubbish in the squad that would have no place in a promotion chasing team.
I’d expect players like Ayew, Schlupp (the CM version), Ward, Luka and Tomkins to be among the weaker players in the championship. |

Otherwise I think we'd sell Guehi, Docoure, Andersen and Olise. Mitchell and Eze are tricky ones. Massively overrated generally by Palace fans but you'd imagine a lower half Premier League team might pay 10m for either. Both would be great in the championship though so we may gamble and keep them for a promotion push. I don't know who would come in for Mateta, Edouard, Guaita, Richards, Hughes etc but if we keep some of those that would help. I expect they'd all want to leave but I don't know if many clubs will be banging down the door for them. |

If we went down, I don’t think we’d lose Olise, doucoure, eze, edouard, mitchell and hughesy Unless someone come in with a big offer.
I think Andersen and Guehi would go and understandably. If we retained the above with some youngsters like Malcolm, jesarun, banks, and the striker chap at Carlisle kymani, and obviously we’d purchase others I think we’d have more than a strong enough squad to hit top 6 in the championship. Edouard bangs 15-20 goals in the championship.

The players we might want to keep will want to go and nobody will want the ones who have got us in this mess.

As with any team that is close to being relegated, the vultures will be hovering. I think it all depends which clubs are the vultures and whether the likes of Olise, Geuhli, etc will be lured away by them. Having said that, we ain't relegated yet so maybe we should ignore this thread and stop premature speculation.
