Carshalton Athletic
What a great start to the season for the Robins. Six points clear at the top of the table. I can't see them sustaining it and getting in the conference but a great way to start a season after getting promoted.
Kettering Town on Saturday which should be good as they have just come down. ![]()

Carshalton didn't look a bad side when we played them in the friendly last season. I really dunno how other local non league sides are doing. Can Carshalton go up with the ground they currently have?

Lativan Eagle, Carshatlon want to redevelop there current ground into a 6000 all seater stadium complete with tranining facilties (pitches, gym etc etc) they believe they will make money within 2 years.
The promblem is to achieve building the new ground they need to build into the park behind the back of the main terrace (the park is a s**thole anyway) and knock down some allotments. Local residents are furious at the idea. But there current ground has a 8,000 capaicty. So I would not know if the ground is good enough for confrence level.

As for the park behind it, as you said it is a toilet anyway, just full of the local mutants getting stoned & pissed at nite so it'll be no loss if they build over half of it anyway!! |

I read the local rag last week and all the letters were agaisn't the new stadium, hardly suprising because although a new stadium will benefit the community, no one wants a football stadium on their doorstep.

Good management team there. Billy Smith and George Wakeling, got to be one of the strongest Manager/Coach pairings in non-league.
I still remember how George almost got Bromley into the Conference (and his daughter Kelly was an absolute smasher... but that's another story that belongs in past ![]() |
